I Owe It All To My French Teacher
Throughout my life, I’ve loved to draw and create, always working on craft projects and doodles in my free time. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I really started to consider a creative career.
While in high school my French teacher taught us about the Impressionism art movement that started in France. I really loved the idea of painting just an impression of a moment in time. Focusing on color and light instead of perfectly emulating something realistically. And that’s when I started painting.
Today I take inspiration from the Impressionists and focus on portraying the small moments that happen throughout our days that really make up our entire lives. The way your dog looks at you when you get home. Sitting on the porch and chatting for hours with neighbors and friends. That first sip of coffee on a cool cloudy day. These are the moments that make us who we really are.
